Road Closure - Part of Riverboat Row
Monday, February 2, 2015
ANNOUNCEMENT OF ROAD CLOSURE
A portion of Riverboat Row in Newport, Kentucky will be closed beginning on Monday, February 9, 2015.
Closure of a portion of Riverboat Row (toward the easternmost end of the road, near Bellevue) allows road improvement work by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet as part of a culvert extension project. Riverboat Row will be closed to through traffic for vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians from Chart House Restaurant to Joe's Crab Shack. The intersection of Riverboat Row and Dave Cowens Drive (KY 8) will remain open at Riveria Dr., however, traffic will not be able to proceed beyond the entrances to Joe's Crab Shack and Comfort Suites Hotel. This portion of Riverboat Row is expected to remain closed throughout the majority of 2015.
- For access to the Chart House, patrons will reach Riverboat Row by using the Port of Entry (from Dave Cowens Drive at the foot of Park Avenue) and turning right onto Riverboat Row.
- For access to Comfort Suites, a new driveway will be open near the eastern end of Riverboat Row. Guests at Comfort Suites may still enter Riverboat Row from the intersection with Dave Cowens Drive (at the traffic light in front of the Party Source) and turn left into the new driveway.
- For access to Joe’s Crab Shack and adjacent businesses in Bellevue, Riverboat Row at the intersection with Dave Cowens Drive (at the traffic light in front of the Party Source) will remain open. Alternately, patrons may use Fairfield Avenue to Patchen Avenue.
- Service for TANK Southbank Shuttle will be re-routed (most likely to Dave Cowens Drive), watch for signage or contact TANK at 859.331.8265 for details.
