Where do I pay my city property taxes and parking tickets? 

  • These can be paid on the second floor of the City Municipal Building at 998 Monmouth Street, Newport, KY. Call 292-3660.

Does the City of Newport offer recycling?

  • There is a once a week pickup by Rumpke at a cost of $49.50 per year per address, or a recycling drop off at the City Garage at 1020 East 9th. See the attached flyer for more details.

Where do I obtain a business license, dog license, yard sale permit?

  • These can be obtained on the second floor of the City Municipal Building at 998 Monmouth Street, Newport, KY 292-3660. And remember you must have a Dog License from both the city if your dog falls into the vicious dog category and the county.

  • Yard sale permits are $10 as of 7/1/07. May have 2 per year, per person or address. The year runs from July 1 to June 30. Permits are issued on a rain or shine basis. They may be obtained at the City Municipal Building, second floor.

Where do I obtain ball field permit?

  • These can be obtained by calling 292-3686. 

Where do I get a license plate, drivers license , pay my automobile taxes and register my car?

  • Auto tags and taxes can be handled at the Campbell County Clerk´s office located in the Campbell County Courthouse at 11th and Monmouth Streets in Newport. Call 292-3845. Driver's Licenses are obtained at 4th & York. Call 292-6311.

Where do I go for speeding tickets/traffic offenses and driving school? 

  • The District Court is located at 600 Columbia Street in Newport. Call 292-6305.

Where do I pay county and state taxes?

  • Campbell County Clerk 1098 Monmouth. Call 292-3845.

How do I know if I need to go to District Court or Circuit Court?

  • Circuit Court issues drivers licenses, I.D. Cards, eviction and divorce papers, bankruptcy and custody cases. Circuit Court is located in the Campbell County Courthouse at 4th and York Streets in Newport. Call 292-6314. District Court handles traffic matters, misdemeanors, juvenile matters, small claims forcible detainer actions, paternity actions, limited civil actions, preliminary hearings on felons and restraining orders. It is located at 600 Columbia Street in Newport. Call 292-6305.
