The Office of City Manager is responsible for the effective administration and operation of all municipal services for the City of Newport. In addition, the office oversees all redevelopment and economic development. The City Manager also tracks the progress of various projects, monitors the day-to-day activities of city departments and maintains intergovernmental relationships with the federal, state and other local governments.
The City uses various methods to communicate with the citizens, such as televised city commission meetings, neighborhood meetings, newsletters, and local newspapers. The Internet is another medium in which the City can provide and receive information from our citizens.
The City of Newport is committed to supporting the interests of its residential and corporate citizens though a wide range of municipal services. Our World Wide Web project reflects our commitment to the rapidly evolving information needs of Newport’s citizens and employers. Our aim is to address three basic needs:
