Boards & Commissions

In addition to the Newport Board of Commissioners, there are several other Boards comprised of Newport residents helping to make decisions for the city. Meetings of all these boards and commissions are open to the public.

We appreciate the many individuals serving on the various city boards. The selfless dedication of time and talent from these members helps to keep things running smoothly and keep the city moving forward responsibly. Names and contact information for board members is not listed on this website.

Individuals wishing to make an application to a board or who wish to speak as an opponent or proponent in any matter before a board will have an opportunity to state their position at the respective public hearing. If unable to attend a hearing, a written statement may be sent to the board chair in care of the city building in advance of the hearing. This ensures that the board is basing their decision only on what is presented openly at the meeting and all parties (applicants, proponents and opponents) will have equal opportunity to hear the same information.
