City Clerk
The mission of the City Clerk is to provide public information, to provide support to the Board of Commissioners, and to preserve the legislative history of the City.

City Manager
The Office of City Manager is responsible for the effective administration and operation of all municipal services for the City of Newport. In addition, the office oversees all redevelopment and economic development.

Finance
The Finance Department handles City taxes, licensing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

Fire
The mission of the Newport Fire/EMS Department is to protect the citizens within the City of Newport from injury and loss of life and/or property due to natural or man-made disasters by providing highly trained and equipped personnel to respond to incidents of fire, flood, chemical release and medical emergencies within a three-minute response time after notification.

The City of Newport accepts job applications for posted, open positions.

Planning & Development
This department reviews and issues building permits, building permit online submittals, zoning permits, and Certificates of Appropriateness (COA).

Among the many regular responsibilities of the Public Works Department is maintenance of street signs, repair of potholes, and maintenance of lane markers and crosswalks.
