 INVITATION TO BID

 The City of Newport, Kentucky, hereby invites sealed bids from qualified contractors for the following project:

Purple People Bridge – Abutment B Repairs and Truss C and Truss D Bearing Rehabilitation

The project consists of structural repairs to Abutment B and bearing rehabilitation for Trusses C and D of the Purple People Bridge. Work includes, but is not limited to, temporary support and jacking operations, selective removal of deteriorated material, reinforced concrete bearing reconstruction, installation of steel components, and related restoration work.

Sealed bids will be received by the City of Newport, Kentucky, until 10:00 a.m. (local time) Friday, February 6, 2026, at which time bids will be publicly opened and read.

 Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond, certified check, or cashier’s check in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid, payable to the City of Newport, Kentucky, pursuant to the requirements of the Kentucky Revised Statutes (KRS).

A bid period of thirty (30) days from the date of advertisement is established for this project.

The City of Newport reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities, and to accept the bid deemed to be in the best interest of the City.
